Israeli-German Dialogue After 7 October and the Gaza War

Fania Oz-Salzberger is an Israeli historian researching the European Enlightenment and the history of political thought. She was raised in Kibbutz Hulda, served as an officer in the IDF and studied at Tel Aviv University before getting her doctoral degree in Oxford University.
Professor emerita of the University of Haifa, she holds a doctorate honoris causa from Uppsala University. She was awarded the German Federal Republic's Order of Service in 2020 and the Grimm Prize in 2021. She authored numerous academic articles and 3 books, including Jews and Words, co-authored with her father Amos Oz (Yale, 2012). She held professorships and fellowships in the Berlin Institute of Advanced Study, Princeton University, Monash University in Melbourne, Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich and more.


Oz-Salzberger is a columnist at Moment Magazine, and contributes op-eds to international newspapers. Following 7/10, she spoke for moderate Zionism and for the two state solution on several media outlets including CNN, Die Zeit, Der Spiegel and The New Statesman.
