Instructions for video editing

Video editing differs slightly depending on the type of video or recording.

Editing uploads

Select the 'Edit' option in the video dropdown.

Now log in with your University account (firstname.surname).

The video editor appears.

Here you will find the tools for cutting, as well as for image and sound control.

The concept is that you select segments that you then activate or deactivate. Inactive segments are skipped in the finished video.

Segments are therefore not actually cut out, but only marked and switched off.

Use the mouse or the buttons to move the playhead to the desired positions. Click on the scissors to split the segments. Click on the eye symbol to show or hide segments.

The 'x' removes cut marks and rejoins segments.

To publish the edited video, select the 'Publish' workflow at the bottom right and confirm by clicking on the green button.

Use the browser's 'back' function to return to your ILIAS course. The video will be labelled accordingly during processing.

The video can then be played and downloaded if applicable.
