Screencasts with Opencast Studio

With Opencast Studio you can make screen recordings including webcam and microphone. You don't need any software other than a browser and your presentation (e.g. PowerPoint or PDF). We recommend Chrome or Firefox as a browser and a good internet connection.

You will find Opencast Studio in ILIAS within the Opencast object. If necessary, please follow the steps for creating an Opencast object.

Preparations and tips

  • Set up your webcam and microphone.
  • Ensure a continuous power supply.
  • Avoid interruptions and sources of interference.
  • Record several short videos rather than one long one.
  • Start your presentation in a window instead of full screen mode. Set up the size of the presentation as you want it to appear in the video.
