Participants get familiar with fundamental problems in the field of Personnel Economics. They learn how to analyze these problems and how to develop solutions. Topics covered in class are:
- Investing in Human Capital - Why Do Firms Train?
- Overlapping Generations in Firms - On the Benefits of a Mixed Workforce
- Multitasking, Imperfect Performance Measurement, and Relational Contracts
- Delegation of Authority
- Career Concerns
Topics are based on original research papers. A solid background in microeconomic theory and basic knowledge of game theory are required.
